The Billings Outlaws have used Design Master Building Systems for two recent projects. The complete renovation and extreme remodel of the Thunderbird Hotel into the Outlaws Inn, and several extensive tenant improvements at the Billings SportsPlex training facility.
The hotel remodel was for a structure built in the 1920's and a wing in the 1950's. Both had been marginally maintained and "band-aid" short term remedies for structural, electrical and plumbing needs. This project was contracted out to Mr. Steilen who had complete authority to take whatever steps were necessary, within our budget, to complete this in a short time in order for us to be able to offer player housing for our team. I live in Seattle and only am able to make infrequent site visits but Mr. Steilen kept me informed of daily progress by e-mail, digital photos and occasionally phone calls. He always asked for my concurrence on changes that were not anticipated or part of our budget or to offer better solutions or to suggest less expensive options.
The Outlaws Inn was finished ahead of schedule and within budget. The SportsPlex tenant improvements were also completed on time and under budget and blended into the new construction and fixtures of the SportsPlex seamlessly. Mr. Steilen has continued to monitor the progress and involve his company and his subcontractors on both of these projects to ensure the successful completion of the job, and maintain full function and warranty compliance.
I would highly recommend Design Master Building Systems and Mr. Steilen for new or remodel construction. He would be my only consideration for these types of projects in the Billings or surrounding areas.

Built in the mid 1920's this hotel was in desperate need of renovation and an eye sore for the community. Now, it houses the professional indoor football team the Billings Outlaws. It is completely remodeled facility that is functioning in its entirety. A place not only the Outlaws call home but in the off season business people now call a home away from home.

Upon the building of a great relationship between the owner of the Outlaws Inn and the Billings SportsPlex, Design Master Building Systems has been called on numerous times to continue the upgrades, maintenance and care taking of the SportsPlex.

The complete renovation by Design Master Building Systems has turned an old rundown hotel into a welcomed historical restoration for downtown Billings, including Stella's new bakery, sidewalk cafe and office.
